PlaneWave Instruments, global leader in the design and manufacture of high-tech observatory-class telescopes, is excited to announce its second annual Open House and Science Expo. The event will take place on October 7-8, 2023, from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM, at PlaneWave’s headquarters in Adrian, MI. The Expo will feature a variety of demonstrations, displays, talks, and experiences demonstrating remarkable scientific accomplishments and processes.

“The first event was such a great success, we decided to make it an annual effort,” explained Richard Hedrick, President and CEO of PlaneWave Instruments. “We’re so excited to host the community again and show everyone the incredible things happening on our campus!”

During the event, guests can tour PlaneWave’s manufacturing facilities, Adrian Center for the Arts’ facilities, and the Sam Beauford Woodworking Institute–all of which reside on PlaneWave’s 57-acre campus. Staff and volunteers from all three organizations will be available to answer questions and explain processes.

PlaneWave Talks will include presentations about telescopes, astrophotography, robotics, the PlaneWave origin story, the Adrian Center for the Arts, the future of the PlaneWave campus, and more.  Special presentations will be held by guest speakers Rachel Freed, from the Institute for Student Astronomical Research (InStAR), and Dr. Tom Megeath from the University of Toledo (presenting on this research using the James Webb Telescope).

During the event attendees will have the opportunity to experience:
