Cropped and zoomed image :  9.2’x6.9′

Objects: Eta Carinae Nebula (NGC 3372)
Field Center:  J2000:0: 10h43m50s -59d52.0m
Field Size: Cropped 9.2’x6.9′, Full size 18.4’x27.5′
Exposure: 1-second I, R, and V-band photmetric filters
Instruments: CDK20 f/6.8 with STL-6303E
Location: University of Louisville, Mt Kent Observatory in Southern Queensland, Australia
Date:  May 20, 2007
Processing: The I, R, and V bands are displayed in this image as red, green and blue, respectively. Color layers were extracted with a gamma of 2.0 from the original 16-bit dark-subtracted images.  The combined color image as shown here was subsequently processed with an unsharp mask to highlight detail in the nebula surrounding the star, with weaker signals non-linearly increased to show fainter features.
