Pier Height Calculator

An Excel spreadsheet to help estimate the appropriate pier height for various telescopes and mounts (Fork, German Equatorial, and Alt-Az).

This spreadsheet makes use of macros. Some versions of Windows and Office will prevent you from opening Excel spreadsheets downloaded from the Internet if they contain macros. You may see an error message, such as:

The file is corrupt and cannot be opened.

To work around this, right-click on the file, select Properties, and click the Unblock button. Then, open the file normally.

If you see the message:

Macros have been disabled

click the Enable Content button to enable all the features of this tool.
